Focus on Unity

Unity is strength... when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved.
Mattie Stepanek

Society is naturally attracted to the Lone Wolf.
You know the one I speak of. They insist on working alone because anyone else involved will "ruin" their plans. Maybe they feel working with or relying on others is too much trouble.

That's a problem...

Why? The most successful individuals we know of today didn't get there on their own. At some point suggestions, ideas or considerations were heeded from someone else.
Of course you do have free reign to do as you please but just know that your success will be limited.

It's not just about money. Perhaps your intent is help a specific type of people. Without having some kind of team to carry out your wishes, you will be the big fish in small pond.

When I served in the U.S. Navy, I did a lot of painting. Did a total of four years and spent half it on a war ship. I remember it being mid-summer with us moored at the San Diego Pier. Our superiors wanted us to paint the anchor chain. There was a total of twenty of us, all from different backgrounds and age groups. With the sun bearing down on us like a celestial task master, it was easy for tempers to flair.  Primer is a very potent thief when it come to claiming freshly purchased paint brushes. Unfortunately we were painting and priming in increments and consumed ninety-eight percent of our tools before being a quarter done with the job. When I saw this problem the previous day and the fact that those in authority were not supplying us with what we needed, I took measures.

I came in the next day with a set of paint brushes but not enough to share. I couldn't trust that they would do a decent job cleaning it after they were finished. Also concerned with the fact that they might use it for primer, it was no getting them back. I also didn't know when they would resupply us. I could have just not have purchased the brushes and sit back and wait for the people in charge to renew our resources, but I was determined. Menial task or not, it was going to get done! There were a few brushes left and few scarce amount of individuals painting so progress was occurring. I can tell some of them thought me selfish for not sharing the meager supplies I had; if weren't for us working together, rather it be a few or the whole team, painting that anchor chain before the dead line would have been impossible!

These are the facts of life..
The people working with you may not like you or respect you however, determination and focus is necessary to meet the required goals
It will not do to have the excuse when expectations aren't met to say:
"But he doesn't like me!"
"I don't like her!"

You cannot control others, that's obvious. You can control how you react to situations.

Focus on Unity and never mind the supposed limitations.
